Post-Holidays Hurrahs

So the holidays were lovely. Christmas was fabulous, got me some smexy Ugg boots that my dad managed somehow to track down because he is the most amazing man ever. I also got GUITAR HERO III!! Which I have been playing religiously since then.

Of course, soon after I was on my way to Quebec. 18 hour trip there. Longest ride of my life.

Skiing was amazing. The snow was fantastic. We skiied at Mt. Saint Anne, Stoneham, and La Massif.

And after one night of intense partying, and the morning after (bright and early at 7am), I decided heavy drinking wasn’t worth the pain. I took it easy the next few nights.

Then there was New Years. Too loud, too crowded, too expensive, but at least I got to kiss my boyfriend at midnight :)

The ride home was just as long too!

Now I’ve been home for two days, relaxed, caught up on Guitar Hero. I’m now playing on Medium, and doing well I might add.

But of course I took my once-a-break trip to the Dr.’s Office, and had to once again go through the “I have a pale face, I’m tired, I’m unhappy..” etc. etc.

This time, the doctor starts asking more questions than usual. And then decides I need to talk to someone and try medication. Lovely.

Apparently fatigue is the result of depression, which results the lack of desire to go outside, which could explain why I have no color. hahaha! Even the nurse said I looked pale for going to school in Miami (which she assumed from the MIAMI sweatshirt, but of course, I go to school in Ohio. A common mistake.)

Oh, they also drew blood to rule out other things like anemia or liver problems. Of course, I am blessed with very tiny veins, so the nurse had to poke me and search for a vein. Yes, SEARCH. Then she drew a ridiculous amount of blood for all the tests they need to run on me.

I hate being a sickly child. Even when I was younger I was in and out of hospitals all the time. Back then I had acid-reflux disease, and they ran a butt load of tests on me.

One time, They ran a test on me where I wasn’t allowed to move. Try telling a 5 year old they can’t move for an hour while a large machine takes big pictures of your stomach/esophagus. They gave me this drink to try and put me to sleep. After two, I was still wide awake, and had to take the entire test awake. My mom was so proud of me she said she would take me to my favorite place, an amusement park called “Marine World Africa USA.” It was a zoo/amusement park in California. But on the way there, I pass out cold. Next thing I know its 8pm that night.

Stupid hospitals and their tests.

I recall a few urinary track infection tests too. Those were awkward, but they let me read Garfield comics so it was okay.

But yes, apparently I’m just a sick kid, mentally and physically.

I don’t know if I’m going to tell my boyfriend yet, not sure if I really want people to know for right now.

Oh, and I’m totally having a love affair with coffee.

Almost forgot!

HAPPY 2008!!

I think you’re just a normal girl. But then, I have a proud history of being ass wrong when it comes to medical diagnosis. Listen to your Doc.
